        Hi Jon,

Yes, you can see the projects snippets if the project is public. Personal public snippets are visible only to logged in users.

Wow. My day can't get better. Now wait begins for October 22. :-)

I think that will be cool If we can decide to publish the public repository in the public page:
for example we want to use that function to have a readonly repo for pull request without deploy key, but we don't want that repo will showed in the public area.

this is for quick deploy for example on a elastic-infrastrutture.

        Regards

        Franco

Hi Angus, I think the discussion around this feature will take place here (in the feedback forum). Feel free to link pull requests that contain an example of a proposed solution.

I would be very interested in participating in the design and/or implementation of this. I and a colleague of mine may be able to dedicate some time on this in the near future. Please keep me in the loop.

Where will the discussion around this feature be taking place? It might be a good idea to have a single place to follow the discussion so that we don't have unnecessary duplication of effort, or where people could get validation on their design before proceeding too far in implementation.

Thank you for all the feedback on the public repositories feature. We are accepting pull requests for this feature but there are a lot of concerns. This is not an easy feature to add without complicating the code base. Any pull request will have to meet the following criteria:
        - No duplication of logic
        - No 'if then else' type of code added to controllers or views
        - Good tests to ensure security and exclusivity of the stored source code
        - All url's should be the same or there should be smart redirects both ways
        - It should look nice

The core team will be very picky and please expect long discussions before anything is merged. We will deny anything that will complicates the future development of GitLab.

any news on this with Gitlab 5.0?

Ultimately this should just be implemented identical to how GitHub Enterprise does it.

YES! We were trying out gitlab and found it great but never came to use it, since we wanted to have public access as well, so that other people could comfortably look through the code and what is happening around a particular code base, without having to have an account or login, just like github.

Public clone is nice, and now it would be great to be able to have a public home page (with documentation about the project and how to install).
