It would be great if you could attach images(s) to issues when you create them, not just to comments.161 votes
There's currently a nice install script, but why not automate that?313 votes
We will makes packages for GitLab with Omnibus-ruby. Please help by sending merge requests to https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/omnibus-gitlab
It would be great to have icons for projects like the icons on the groups that are recently added to GL.
You could add the app-icon of a mobile app to the project to have a fast visible distinction between the projects.
These icons should be shown in front of the group and project names everywhere in gitlab (Dashboard, Project list, etc..)106 votes
We are accepting merge requests for this based on Steven his awesome letter icon proposal. The implementation should have a bit smaller and thinner letter font, everything should be aligned and centerered properly and please take care of adapting truncating the text properly in all display modes.
Send web hooks when one is creating tag in repo - it's easier to deploy new version when tag is pushed rather commit.101 votes
We have quite a lot of Github repos that we want to move to GitLab.
We have quite comprehensive wikis written i github flavored markdown accompanying these repos.
I would be more than nice if we could simply move the github wiki directly to the gitlab wiki, with no loss of functionality.
For us it a game stopper for using gitlab that we cannot do this.20 votes
I understand why markdown format was modified for gitlab, however typing long readme files is very anoying because of the ending of paragraph at every new line.
A configuration option would be very helpfull that would enable new paragraphs only after an empty line.40 votes
If the project was forked from somewhere, the default destination repo should be the original repo + its default branch, and not (current repo + empty) as is currently the case.
If not forked, the destination repo + branch should be (current repo + default branch of current repo).
Those defaults are much more common use cases.3 votes
We’re accepting merge requests to default to the default branch. We will not accept defaulting to the original repo since some people will want to send MR’s in the forked repo.
The "Compare" tab now enables us to compare different revisions in the entire repository, but sometimes we need to compare only sub-directories or files.
Can you add the option to compare the revisions of a specific file/directory between different revisions/branches?10 votes
