General

This feature request forum allows you to submit, comment on and vote for GitLab CE/EE/CI features.

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".
(thinking…)

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. Assign labels in issue list

Currently we have to open every single issue to assign a label to it.

We would like to edit labels as we can do with milestones. In the overview of our issues, we should be able to select one or more issues and assign one or more labels to it.

This could be solved in the same way as Github is doing it or there might be a better solution.

    • Public SSH Keys for a group

It is already possible to get SSH keys for a user from http://gitlab.com/{user}.keys

It would be nice, if it was also possible to get the keys of all users of a group with one request like http://gitlab.com/{group}.keys

This would help to set up the authorized_keys list of servers and could be exposed eaily.

      • Option to compare specific files/directories in the compare view

The "Compare" tab now enables us to compare different revisions in the entire repository, but sometimes we need to compare only sub-directories or files.

Can you add the option to compare the revisions of a specific file/directory between different revisions/branches?

        • Add View Pull Request buttons for Gmail

Add a subject-line link to view pull requests in Gmail. Github recently launched this feature and we would like to add it to the emails sent out by Gitlab.

          • Highlight Berksfile as Ruby

Berksfile is a file, used by Berkshelf (Chef cookbook dependency manager).

It would be nice, if those files would be highlighted as Ruby code, as Vagrantfile or Gemfile do.

            • Syntax highlighting in editor while editing and creating files.

ACE already supports syntax highlighting through: getSession().setMode.

We only have to determine the file type. For editing, this is already done; for creation we can either determine filetype from the filename, or have a selection dropdown, or both: when you enter the filename it auto-guess selects the filetype.
